Smith Herring stewart family recipes...

Greetings Smith/Herring/Stewart Family,

Our SmithFamily has been richly blessed to have some of the most incredible cooks throughout generations. Our Grandparents taught our parents, who taught us delicious recipes to share and pass down to our children and grandchildren for many years to come. My Mom, Dorothy Sibley is the contributor for the month of June sharing her recipe for"Dot's Soul-Styled Shrimp Fried Rice" A favorite dish for her husband Wallace, their kids, and grandchildren.

"Dot's Soul-Styled Shrimp Fried Rice"


Ingredients:


2 cups chilled cooked rice

1/2 cup of butter

1/2 cup chopped yellow onion (or less)

1/2 cup chopped green onion (or less)

1/2 cup of cooked sweet corn and sweet peas (if desired)

1/4 cup of Soy Sauce

1/4 teaspoon of season salt

1/4 cup of Olive oil

1 pound shrimp, thawed, peeled, and deveined

Directions:


Pour olive oil in skillet over medium/high heat.

Stir-fry shrimp until pink. Set aside when done.

Melt butter in skillet, add yellow onion, saute.


Add green onion and soy sauce.

Add sweet corn and sweet peas.

Mix in rice and make sure it's evenly coated.

Stir in shrimp and fry until steamy hot (don't let it get mushy) Remove from heat and it's ready to serve.

Preparation 20 minutes. 4 servings.
